(More customer reviews)At first glance, this film looks like it's going to be a slapstick clone of so many other Blake Edwards' productions.And, in fact, the film does contain a great many scenes that would tend to belong under the "slapstick" genre. Surprisingly, however, there is much more to this film.
The plot centers around a man named Steve Brooks who is a womanizer squared.He's handsome, charming, well built & has a "way" with women. Unfortunately, he also has a heart of granite & leaves a wake of heartbroken women behind him.
One day, 3 ex-girlfriends plot their revenge. They lure him into a hot tub and murder him.Steve makes it to Purgatory, but is told he is right on the borderline between having his final destination be heaven or hell.
To break the deadlock, God (who is both male & female) sets forth a task:he must find a woman who truly likes him for who he is (and not for some fast-talking come-on line) in order for him to get inside the pearly gates. At the last moment, the Devil enters the picture and puts on a twist:Steve must get a woman to like him AS a woman!
Ellen Barkin is marvelous as a man trying to figure out how to be a woman. Barkin does a particularly impressive job moving like a man thru out the film and her performance truly steals the show.
So far, it sounds like your typical gender-switching comedy, only with a twist.However, the plot contains many more unanticipated twists. It also deals with some very serious issues that make it nothing short of a dark comedy. Again, this is quite unexpected from looking @ the cover.
I would recommend this film for people who enjoy getting a little more than what they bargained for.As the religious deities obviously parody the Judeo / Christian tradition, I would NOT suggest this film for people who are easily offended. In short, the film takes turns poking fun @ men, poking fun @ women & poking fun @ religion. It turns out to be a good comedy, but a dark one.

- Good price for a piano lamp - most I've seen are over $100.

- Articulates both at the lamp and at the base, so you can bring the light as low as necessary to the page.

- Balance is good - I had the lamp bent fairly low and it showed no signs of wanting to tip.Cons:

- The shade is two finger-widths wider than a T bulb, which makes it tough to screw in the light bulbs.

- The lamp just doesn't look that great.
- The dark bronze finish doesn't have any luster.The areas where it's been scuffed to show the lighter bronze finish underneath are a little too consciously done - that lighter finish shows through *only* on the corners and edges where it's been scuffed and nowhere else, rather than having the "textured" look you'd see in a typical oil-rubbed bronze finish.
- The lamp shade isn't round, which may not be apparent from the picture.Look closely and you can tell that the shade is a series of flat sides.Each corner of the shade has been scuffed to expose the lighter bronze finish.The result looks kind of flimsy.Notes:
- The lamp takes two T-type light bulbs (not included).

- The electrical cord is around 4 feet long - adequate to stretch from the middle of my console upright piano to the electrical socket on the wall to the left of the piano.I'm returning this lamp for a refund.Even though it's functional, it just doesn't look good on my piano.Three stars because I think it fills a need, but the execution isn't great.

(More customer reviews)I'm about to give up on this thing. After 2 hours of installing, wiring, drilling, and 2 more hours of adjusting, and now 3 weeks of re-adjusting, turning it off and on and off ...trying to make the light go on at night or go off in the daytime...

(They didn't even send the one in the picture. The one they sent has the sensor mounted differently.)

I'm just too tired to drag out the ladder and take the whole thing apart again.But it must be almost 30 days, so I had better send it back soon, or eat the loss.

Bottom line: Don't waste your money. Get a good one instead.

Ever!This is a very poor quality design.When it is plugged into the socket, any little bump or jolt causes it to lose power.No matter what angle it is set in, it is physically impossible not to jiggle it.I drive a stick and every time I shift gears, the shifter knocks it out of kilter.Drives me crazy (those who know me say that it's a short trip):-)

On the upside, the USB port worked and is a cool gadget.It powered my iBook nicely on a recent trip.Too bad the rest of it was such a piece of junk.

This is not the adapter you're looking for, move along.....
