(More customer reviews)I bought what appears to be an identical control but in 5A (Leviton IPF05-1LX IllumaTech 5A 120-Volt AC Fully Variable Fan Speed Control with LED Locator, White, Ivory and Almond) to control a ceiling fan. It caused the fan to hum. I bought another 3-position switch locally and it works fine. I returned the item.
I really like the design of this but am concerned it would cause the same hum.
