The aluminum, waterproof casing works well. I've dropped this flashlight onto concrete, into a washing machine, thrown it into glove boxes- it just does not quit.
Light: The adjustable lens ranges from fist-sized precision to normal wide-field flashlight size, and I just keep it on the wide setting. Overall, the flashlight provides the right amount of light. It illuminates, but it's not blinding. This is the exact amount of light you expect from a good, home-use flashlight.
Life: I've used this flashlight regularly for over six months, and it's still as bright as when I first turned it on. This is by far the longest I've had a flashlight last on one set of batteries. I'll be startled when this thing finally runs out of power someday.
Design: The push-button on the back keeps clicking like the day I bought it, it's properly positioned and it works well. The etched grips on the sides are slip-free (when I've dropped it it's been entirely from my own fumbly fingers). There's even a clip on the back for a keyring, if you have a need for that. This is a smaller, one-handed flashlight. It's not as reassuring as a full-size, police-baton MagLite, but it's comfortable.
This is an excellent flashlight, perfect for home. It's also excellent for camping, with the waterproofing and durable case. If you have the chance, pick one up immediately.
